Also known as ileal conduit. A small urine reservoir that is surgically created from a segment of bowel. The ureters are attached to one end of the bowel segment and the other end is brought out through an opening in the skin known as a stoma and empties into a plastic bag type resevoir. The patient then drains the collected urine out of the reservoir when it becomes full.
