Or IP reader, a main component in the computed radiography system. It replaces the film/screen system. It does not contain light sensitive film and can be used repeatedly. The image is recorded on this plate and is then put into an image reader where the image is then transferred to a computer monitor. Once the image is transferred, the IP is then erased to be used again.
