Hi my future mothers and fathers…I was wondering can an x-ray detect early pregnancy? I was thinking no b/c the baby isn’t in the stomach yet rite? Especially in the early weeks…
I say this b/c my fiance had a x-ray of stomach this week for other reasons, not pregnancy, but she is expected to be preg…at least we think she is but we’ve had a positive result HPT & a neg one a day later.
So what do you guys know?

You are supposed to tell the xray tech if you think you might be pregnant!! It could be very dangerous for the baby! Go see an OB/GYN right away.
Do you mean an ultrasound??
an xray is completely different to an ultrasound, an xray is actually harmful during pregnancy as it uses radiation where as an ultrasound or a sonogram as some call it uses the water in the body to build images.
If you partner had a positive hpt and was very early like 3-4 weeks, then it wouldn’t necessarily show on an ultrasound, if however she was further along, then it may be ectopic or may not be progressing.
she could very well be pregnant because when you are first pregnant before there are any visual signs of the baby the uterus lining becomes very thick to help protect the baby. I think you should go to an obgyn and have them examine her and run some more tests to be sure…good luck to you
The baby’s never in the stomach, it’s in the uterus.
Did the doctor and x-ray tech know that she is pregnant? She is, by the way, false positives are extremely rare.
You guys need to talk to the doctor right away about this.
Your not supposed to be around X-rays while preggo.
Baby’s are never in moms stomachs.
That is all I know.
I hope if she is preggo the baby was not harmed.
that xray could have just killed your unborn baby!!! false negatives happen false positives are extremely rare! yes she was pregnsnt you better pray your baby is ok.
