CT scan see different things with and without IV contrast (dye). In the brain, there is unlikely to be anything there that would cause pain that can’t, at least, be hinted at with a non-contrasted scan. If they saw something funny, they might finish it up with a contrasted scan. Sinusitis is over diagnosed, and on CT almost everyone has some evidence of sinus disease making it a useless test for sinusitis. Although it likely will be normal, the test to follow up the CT of the brain you have had would be an MRI/MRA
