Today i’ve been to an X-Ray, and they have lots of notices up on their walls saying “Please do not perform X-Ray if you SUSPECT you are pregnant.”
Can anyone tell me what harms will X-Ray do to the foetus?

An X-ray can cause severe birth defects and developmental abnormalities, especially if the X-ray is taken in the first trimester.
radiation is ten times more harmful to a child than an adult.
radiation may cause birth defects….especially in the first trimester. if you do need to get an x-ray and you are or may be pregnant, tell the tech. they will shield your abdomen (they should put 2 or 3 shields on). this will protect your baby from the radiation. the amt of radiation used in general x-ray is minimal. when you have a fluro case or CT done, then you are dealing with higher doses
